A Healthy Registry
and Windows
Vista
Windows Vista is the latest version of
the Windows operating system, and is much more sophisticated
and complicated than its predecessors. Despite the development
though, Vista has many things in common with previous Windows
operating systems. Vista still relies in the registry to make
sure that the computer runs as it should, and as such if
damaged the Windows Vista registry still needs to be
fixed.
WINDOWS VISTA IS STILL CAPABLE OF
BEING DAMAGED
Whilst Windows is the latest operating
system distributed by Microsoft, it still has some of the same
vulnerabilities that its predecessors had. It may be faster and
more powerful, but Vista still has a reliance on the Windows
Vista registry to keep the operating system, and therefore the
computer running. The registry can still be corrupted and will
therefore require fixing.
The release of Windows Vista has not
removed the need for a registry. It remains as the central
function of every computer, containing as it does all of the
information about the software, hardware and files installed on
the computer. The registry is full of keys and values, within
their appropriate hives, and is needed to make the computer
work.
The overall structure of the registry
within Vista is almost exactly the same as in older operating
system, and as such still remains vulnerable to the same
issues. A Vista registry can be corrupted and require a fix of
any issues. Any damaged keys or invalid links can still lead to
a large registry and may impact on the running of the software
and hardware installed on the machine. Uninstallation issues
can still leave behind keys and values that are no longer
required, just as previous Windows operating system
did.
Vista may be the most powerful and
complicated of all Microsoft releases, but it is still a
relative fragile system. The Windows registry is in fact in
many ways less stable than Windows XP, and whilst patches and
service packs are imminent the Vista registry can still see a
few errors crashing the system. Therefore it is vital that the
registry is looked after and kept healthy.
GETTING A REGISTRY REPAIRER THAT
WORKS WITH VISTA
With any operating system it is very
important that a user of Vista looks out for corrupted files
and other errors. The simplest way for this to happen is to
scan the whole registry and get any identified errors fixed.
Microsoft itself has an editor built into the Windows Support
Tool that comes with a Windows Vista package. The Microsoft
registry editor though is not an easy piece of equipment to
use, and it should not be used unless you have an expert
knowledge of how a registry operates. Doing anything within the
Windows registry is something that even the most knowledgeable
of computer professionals steer clear of. An accidental delete
could well see the whole computer stop working, and require a
complete reinstall of Vista.
There is though a way to fix any issues
within the Windows registry without going through the issues of
a registry editor. A corrupted registry can be fixed with a
basic cleaner piece of software. These programs can be used by
people with no knowledge of the registry and are a great time
saver as well.
A good registry repairer can scan through
a Windows registry in a minute and can repair any problems
found. One of the best scanners and cleaners for Windows Vista
is RegCure. RegCure can scan and fix a corrupted registry in
next to no time, and what is more a free scan from the program
is available from a simple web link.
