Repairing and Fixing
Your Registry Errors
The Windows registry can become corrupted
fairly easily, and many of our own computing habits will cause
registry files to become corrupted. AS everyone needs a
computer to work as it should, we should look at our own habits
to ensure that the Windows registry remains fit and
healthy.
DOES THE WAY YOU USE YOUR
COMPUTER CAUSE REGISTRY ISSUES?
It is a sad fact that the way we use our
computer is normally responsible for our issues with it. Most
common computer problems can be traced back to issues with the
Windows registry, and it is our own computer usage that has
caused many of the problems, errors and corrupt files found in
it.
The Windows registry will need fixing on
a regular basis, and the longer it is left without being looked
at the more errors are going to have to be fixed.
A brand new computer will have an
uncluttered and undamaged Windows registry. This is hardly
surprising when the only information it will contain is
configuration data about installed software and hardware. When
a computer is used, and the more often it is used the more
problems there are likely to be with the registry.
General usage though is only likely to
cause a few issues within the registry. It is our bad computing
habits that are likely to cause the most damage and corruption
to the Windows registry.
There are some common mistakes that
computer users make –
- Installing and Uninstalling
programs – Any additional hardware of software
that is installed on a computer will have corresponding
keys and values saved to the Windows registry. The
uninstall process should remove these items when an
application is no longer required. Unfortunately they are
often left behind, where the keys and values no longer have
any links or validity. This is the normal cause of a
registry becoming corrupt.
Some people will install and
uninstall more applications than others, especially when
hardware and peripherals are constantly being changed. The
keys and values that are left behind can easily have an
impact on the new applications, and as a result the Windows
registry is likely to become full of errors that require
fixing.
-
Browsing and Downloading
– An increasing proportion of the
population are making use of the internet to watch
movies and video clips from such sites as YouTube,
and to download items from others like iTunes.
Others will play games from various sites, which
may or may not need a download of some
software.
Downloading or even playing or
watching can leave elements within the Windows registry,
especially where things like Active X are utilized. These
elements will build up in a registry causing the same
corruption and errors as a software or hardware
install/uninstall would have done. Again all these errors
will need fixing, otherwise your computer may not work like
it should.
- Improper Usage -
The incorrect installing and uninstalling of applications
is only one aspect of an improper usage of a computer.
People will often just delete a program rather than going
through an uninstall process. This will lead to the Windows
registry becoming corrupted. In addition many people also
do not go about shutting down their computer correctly,
again causing errors.
It is obvious that the way we use our
computer has an impact on its health. Even by changing our
usage though it is not a guarantee that our Windows registry
will remain free from errors. As such is it always a good idea
to have a good registry repair program installed to deal with
any issues.
There are many registry cleaners
available for download. These programs will undertake a deep
scan of the registry and fix any errors that are located. One
of the easiest registry repair programs available for usage is
RegCure. RegCure is a great way to efficiently deal with any
errors that may be impacting upon the registry. RegCure is even
available as a free download, to enable a scan to be undertaken
of the registry.
